Marlies Kirchler creates and photographs with all of her heart. She is co-founder and planner of Atelier Am Stein.
Marlies Kirchler is a designer and photographer whose work focuses on inner worlds and their reflection in (human) nature.
She graduated with an exam in textile design. From 1996 to 2017 she worked with Wolfgang Hartl in the graphic design studio and on various art exhibitions. During this period they also realised the Atelier Am Stein.
In her many years as a graphic designer, she has conceived and organised countless photo shoots. She selected the images and did the editing. The process of self-awareness then made her take up the camera herself. Today, pictures are her principal means of expression.
We only see the things that correspond to our world of experience. Most of the time we are blind to everything outside our frame. Since her life has changed radically, she sees a completely different world. Many moments no longer seem real in the conventional sense. These are her favourite motifs. She sees the beauty that touches deep inside.
Marlies Kirchler lives in Austria, but defines herself as a citizen of the world.
